On March 27, 2022 Chalkbeat Colorado cited a report produced by CLE in an article titled “Colorado charter schools seek more authority over special education”, exploring how charter schools within the state can provide better educational opportunities for students with disabilities. The Center for Learner Equity partnered with CACSA, a non-profit organization in Colorado dedicated to assisting authorizers in “adopting best practices that align with Colorado’s policies and culture of local control”. Through this collaboration CLE published “Elevating Family Voices: An Exploration of How Families of Students with Disabilities Experience School Choice in Colorado”, highlighting the experiences of a small sample of families of students with disabilities navigating educational opportunities in Colorado.
